Fall and winter are ideal tree-planting times. Just a few gallons of water a week will keep a newly planted tree's root ball moist and happy. Planting in the fall or winter gives roots a chance to settle during the cooler months, giving the tree a jump start on the next growing season and getting it prepared for the summer's extreme heat.
Some great native and adapted trees to try:
Cedar Elm - Chinese Pistache - Monterrey Oak - Texas Persimmon - Texas Mountain Laurel - Desert Willow - Vitex - Anacacho Orchid - Mexican Plum - Burr Oak - Yaupon Holly - Mexican Buckeye
Happy Planting!!
