Phone: 512.868.3373 Level One: The Do-It-Yourself Plan This is an ideal solution for our customers who wish to complete their own projects. This design is created for you at our nursery. 1. Take pictures of the area(s) of your garden you wish to focus on. These pictures should be taken from several angles and distances to give us a “complete” picture.
2. Make a simple sketch in an overhead view. It’s easiest to use graph paper so the sketch will be to scale. Start with a fixed object such as your home, perimeter fence, or pool. Take accurate measurements, and note anything relevant, such as shade trees, windows, doors, steps, gates, drainage, electrical, septic systems, etc. Also make a note of lighting exposure (direction of sun rise and sun set) and shade that is cast throughout the day, since lighting is very important for healthy plant growth. All ‘Do it Yourself’ plans will be kept on file at Forever Gardens until your purchase(s) are made, since we assume you will be purchasing all or most of your plants from us. At this point, you will be given a copy of your sketch. We do ask that young children have attention, so bring a friend to help out so the kids can have fun too. Keep in mind that our design team is also our sales team and our attention may be required by others. If it’s busy, we may need to help out other customers during your visit. This may require some patience on your part. We suggest that you try to come early on a weekday, or late in the day before closing, but call ahead, especially during the winter months when we may be out on a landscape job or closed, or during the spring when the nursery is at its busiest.
Level Two: Landscape Consultation Some clients just need the designers’ ideas and some questions answered to be inspired to success. For others, the consultation is just the first step. The consultation allows the designer to gather necessary information about you and your property to create a unique landscape plan. The consulting fee is $60/hour. Most consultations can be completed in 1-2 hours. Be sure to have a list of specific areas of concern before we arrive.
Level Three: Consultation and Formal Landscape Plan As in Level Two, the designer will come to your home and focuses on gathering information about you, your lifestyle, and your property. Measurements will be taken so a plan may be drawn. If a plot plan is provided, measuring time is minimized. A comprehensive plan, based on your input is conceived. The price for the plan is based on the amount of time spent creating it. The designer can give you an estimate for this during the consultation (plans may range from$150-500 and up, depending upon complexity). Once the preliminary plan is complete, a meeting will be set up at the nursery or your home to go over it. We will make any necessary changes before the master plan is printed and you take your working copy.
Level Four: Complete Design Build As in Level Three, the designer comes to your home and creates a formal landscape plan. Once the final design is agreed upon we will provide an estimate for the installation. Upon acceptance with your signed proposal and down-payment, your project will be put on the schedule.
